Ineligible for Bank payment

Signed up for Verizon cell service a year ago. 6 lines and a watch . No issues set up auto pay all good . Fast forward a few months and autopay discount isn't available on auto pay with a debit/credit card. Fine no biggie, go online and set up for direct bank bill pay to keep my discount. After a few months of sorting that out and going to my bank I find out the issue was that set up process with Verizon. I enter the info in manually . Great autopay working getting the auto pay discount all good. My mother in law passed away and she was the sixth line on the account . We go to a corporate store with the death certificate and her phone . No issues they cancelled the line and didn't charge anything . A week later I get an email that I canceled my auto pay . I didn't authorize this no one was one the app or website to authorize this . Now I only have two options to set up credit/debit card ( ineligible for autopay discount) or Verizon credit card.(I don't have ). I don't get the option to set up with my bank account. Its now say ineligible for Bank account pay . I call customer service. They don't know what why or how . They contacted finance . The finance dept said " your ineligible for bank pay . Go to a Verizon store" . Is this a push for the Verizon credit card?. Is it discrimination to those with poor credit?.

Had the same problem, just found out how to fix it. I’m back on the discount now. All you really need to do if that happen is to unenroll in the autopay and reenroll. Look for it, it will say that you’re enrolled that’s why it says ineligible Probably due to missing a payment or making payment manually. I hope that helps

Sorry to hear of your loss.

This may just be me, but I don't think the autopay issue has anything to do with the disconnection of the 6th line or your credit.  A number of people have been posting in recent months that their long-used methods of autopay no longer work.  Verizon must have removed several means of payment from their system.  Why, couldn't tell you.  This just seems counterintuitive, making it harder for customers to pay their bill.
