After this round of issues I am done with Verizon. My wife and I just brought a baby home and we are struggling financially on only salary only at the moment. We had to reconnect services last month and have paid over 750 dollars the last two months including a payment on the 28th of August. They just disconnected our service again and is claiming we owe them 403 dollars to reconnect. After many aggravating conversations with text agents two of which promised they could reconnect service, they notified me that they charge a 20 dollar reconnect fee per pay per line if you set up a payment arrangement. They also stated that recently Verizon changed their policy for employees to be able to waive the insane fees. If we pay this and the bill due at the end of the month, we will have paid them over 1500 dollars in the span of 3 months. That is more than our car notes. We are switching out of Verizon immediately your fees are inhumane and a clear money grab.

Ouch. Can't blame you. IMO it's like the high interest rates or service charges the quick loan places or check cashing shops charge - unfair, but sadly the way things are. I'd suggest using either prepaid service or one of the 3rd party budget carriers until your situation improves. Wishing you the best of luck.
