New lines

I was going to activate new phone lines for two foster children we have taken in.

I was going to get them the $30 plan with the I phone 15.

However, when I was going to check out, there was a $60 fee per phone.  What does the one time charge of $60 cover?

This seems really high for a basic plan and a phone that is supposed to be free.

Hey, Soren110283, we hope your foster kids are excited to be using those new phones! It sounds like what you're seeing are sales taxes; when you look at the itemized bill it'll have a description of what each charge is for. If you'd like us to check it out with you, we'd be happy to help in a private message.

There's a new line activation fee of $35/line, unless you specifically have a promotion or writing which indicates the activation fee will be waived.  If you have Verizon do data transfers or data backups to cloud, there are fees for those services as well.

We sent a Private Message to continue the discussion related to your new lines and the charges that were showing up. This is something specific to an individual account, so we will need to continue in Private Message to fully resolve the concern. Please contact us if you still need support. If not, I hope you got those new lines and all is working well.
