Overcharging

Read the fine print people-every month. Verizon tacks on unrequested charges all the time. You have to fight to get a refund. It is never what you’ve paid out. They promise to remove services added-but don’t and the charges continue. Shame on Verizon.

Don't know the exact details of your situation, but yes, taxes and fees are not included in the base prices quoted on the website and it's probably the same if you talk to someone, since they are commissioned sales staff. If you were signed up on MyPlan instead of just a service plan, then there are additional perks tacked onto the deal, and perks cost extra money atop the charges for the service plan.

You can check your account under the manage perks section and try unsubscribing from things you don't want. However, if there was an incentive such as a free phone, trade-in for a new device, upgrade to something better, etc. then trying to change your "deal" may be considered breaking a contract, which would cause you to incur penalties somehow.
