Poor customer service

First off my family and I have been with Verizon for 19 plus years and 2 months ago I thought I changed one of the plans to be able to get and make internationally calls/text! Well 2 months later and through many inquires to customer service they are saying there is NOTHING they can do and I’m stuck paying for an almost $300 phone call(one phone call). I’m really thinking about going to Verizon tomorrow and returning all 5 phones and going elsewhere!! So disappointed!😢

Ouch, sorry to hear about that.  I only recently learned in these forums myself that calling a landline number internationally is NOT covered under the international service plan.  It must have something to do with how Verizon has some kind of deal with wireless carriers overseas.  Since they are working only with other wireless providers, POTS and VoIP lines would not be included.

While the competition also has arrangements for international service, I'd ask some pretty detailed questions about how it works because maybe Blue Logo Place and Pink Logo Place also only deal with wireless carriers abroad and so you could have the same problem with them too.

I see you said you thought you changed it. Could you tell me what process you took to make the change? Also, which international plan did you attempt to add to your account?

Well I do most through the Verizon chat as my internet isn’t great at my home so most calls get dropped,  and not only did I do that but the second I received a text about the hefty call,  I sent a message and also called a few days later and spoke to many associates who claimed they didn’t see  charge for such a call!! The last person I spoke to the other day said their supervisor said there is NOTHING they can do because there is NO record of these conversations!  I find that hard to believe!!   I believe the plan I was supposed to be signing up for was either $9.99 or less but one person that I spoke to after the fact said there was a $100 plan I should have signed up for (which I know for a fact wasn’t what I was told initially). Literally was told a different thing each time I called about this problem (at least 5x’s)

Thank you for the information. Just to make sure we're on the same page, you are making calls to other countries while in the US, you're not traveling to said countries and making calls while there, correct? ~Peter
