Great question! In this case, the line normally becomes active when you activate the device that line will use. If you don't use the line for a full month, you receive a prorated credit on your next bill.

What if you had it over a year and it was never used? Not even once?

Happy Monday! Being on top of your account is crucial, especially if you are managing cost. Verizon is here to help.
Let's back track a little. Did you ever activate the line/phone? Is the line currently active and are you looking to get it disconnected? Why was it set up and not used for a year? Is this referencing a prepaid or postpaid account?

I had originally added the line for my boyfriend and he kept saying he was going to switch his phone over to that new line i added but he never did. I just finally disconnected it because I've been paying on it for awhile and it was never even used.

Hello, Jolenep75. Thanks so much for these details. So sorry to hear your boyfriend didn't use the line in question. To clarify, once you set up service with us, the billing becomes active. Regardless of use. Because of this, we cannot credit/reimburse the line. If you still have the line active on your account, if you no longer need it, we can then cancel the line or see if you can have a different use for it. Please let us know.
