I signed up for Verizon services but canceled next day. I returned the device without unboxing it. However, I have now received a bill for the mobile device and a month of service, even though I never used the service or transferred any of my numbers to Verizon.
I went back to the same exact VERIZON store and returned the phones & was refunded for the charges I paid to begin service . I was also informed that I wouldn’t be charged for the first month since my numbers were never transferred. Despite this, Verizon has reported I OWE THEM $306 to collections, which has negatively impacted my credit score.
This directly contradicts Verizon's return / no questions asked policy.
After speaking with the collections agency, they informed me that only Verizon has the authority to remove this debt from my credit report.
I am urgently requesting assistance from a direct specialist to resolve this matter. I’ve spoken with customer support multiple times, but no help has been provided.
If this issue cannot be resolved promptly, I am prepared to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
I appreciate your immediate attention and guidance in resolving this matter.
