Service disconnected after I kept my payment arrangement

I made a payment arrangement and paid it on time 5 days ago. Then this morning my service was disconnected with no warning what so ever. I could not get a hold of a human on the phone so put my two kids in the car and drove to a Verizon store only for them to say they can’t help me. They just told me to call financial services (where I had already called and the automated system said I couldn’t talk to anyone agent, I had to pay my full balance and that’s my only option). I ended up having to borrow a lot of money from someone to get my phones turned back on. My husband is a first responder and needs his phone so I didn’t have a choice. It is insane that you keep your payment arrangement and then get disconnected anyway. Why wasn’t I eligible for another arrangement for the remainder of my bill? Makes no sense and I’m ready to just leave Verizon, I’ve had nothing but issues since I got with you guys 6 months ago.
