Verizon dollars

So I’m still a bit confused on Verizon dollars. If I spend $100 at grocery store, I understand that I earn $4.00 Verizon Dollars.  Will the $4.00 Verizon Dollars reduce my Verizon wireless bill by $4.00 US?  Or is there a conversion?
