Verizon's Unethical Practice

In 2022, I initially had three lines with Verizon. Around the middle of that year, I decided to disconnect one of the lines. Later in late 2022, I noticed that this line was still appearing on my bill, so I reached out to a customer representative to have it removed. They assured me that the line would be taken off my account. However, in October 2023, I discovered that the line had never been removed, and I was still being charged for it. I immediately contacted Verizon and spent hours discussing the issue. Eventually, they agreed to refund the extra charges and assured me that the line would no longer appear on my future bills.

Fast forward to October 2024: while stationed in Europe, I realized that although I had received a credit for my account in October 2023, the same number continued to appear on my bills, and I was still being charged for it. As an active-duty service member, I often find it challenging to thoroughly review my monthly bills, which is why I opted for autopay. Unfortunately, I didnโ€™t catch this discrepancy sooner.

Despite notifying Verizon twice about these erroneous payments, they have failed to correct the issue. Between October 2023 and October 2024, I was charged approximately $600 in additional fees. When I contacted them about this, they stated that they would only refund me $150 and promised that the line has been removed. I believe this is both unethical and potentially illegal, especially since I've repeatedly informed them about the billing errors.

Could you please provide me with advice or steps I can take to resolve this issue?
