how to change pay day of verizon wireless account

why is it the bill pay app allows me to change the date on the mail page but changes it back to the current date when

the payment is made this is a method to  collect payments early!

To change your Verizon bill cycle, you can: 

1. Go to your Bill Overview in My Verizon
2. Scroll down and click the Bill PDF
3. If you're the Account Owner or the Account Manager, you can change your payment due date
