Along with many many others here I had a loyalty discount for over 10 years. When my bill kept going up I was trying to bring it down. I saw a teacher discount and it did not say - anywhere - that you could not have more than one loyalty discount applied so I stupidly clicked on it. Verizon immediately switched out my higher discount for that. As soon as that happened I called customer service to tell them that I would not have chosen to have a larger discount removed in order to get a smaller discount and they should say that you cannot stack them on the website so people do not make that stupid mistake. At first they said they could not change it. I kept contacting them via chat and phone. They then switched to telling me that the forms were submitted to get it changed and I would see it on the next billing cycle. That has not happened. They have flat out lied over and over and over again. And as I am sure everyone out there knows, every interaction with them - either on the phone or online - goes on for hours. I am sure their intention is to get you to just give up. I don't know how they get away with this. Has anyone actually managed to get a previous - higher - loyalty discount reinstated? Has anyone filed a complaint with Consumer Finance Protection Bureau? That is my next step.
