out of data message

Verizon recently sent me an out of data message despite my usage at only 50% of my plan. My monthly plan is 5g+carryover data (2g this month)+4g of bonus data for life. I've currently used a little over 5g and now I'm using my carryover data. I suspect my bonus data is not being applied. My data widget fluctuates between over 9g used to less than 5g.  Ive checked the detailed usage and it reflects I've only used about 50%. Has anyone had a problem with data usage accuracy or  bonus data not being applied .
