trouble shooting online Verizon chat

Just spent 2 hrs with online Verizon chat techs....I was disconnected twice & worked with a total of 4 techs with no resolve.  I tried to schedule a live call but it went straight to voicemail....which is my issue.  Is anyone else having PERIODIC issues with calls from family/friends in contacts that go straight to voicemail & don't show in recent call log? I've done all the normal troubleshooting & have a new iphone 16e with software up to date.

Are you on WiFi when the missed calls happen, or are you on cellular service?  If you are on WiFi Calling, it's probably an IPv6 conflict which can be fixed either by disabling IPv6 or doing some technical tweaking with your router so it will accept the data packets correctly while on IPv6.  If you are on cellular and cannot receive any phone calls at all, check that VoLTE is enabled in your settings and also that your band selection isn't set to only use 5G.  Use either "5G Auto" for automatic best band selection, or "LTE" if 5G is not available at all in your area.

Sporadic missed calls while on cellular is typically due to poor signal strength, which is a network issue and not your phone.  I've heard very extreme network congestion where the towers are very, very overloaded can also cause the same problem, but I've not experienced this personally despite living in an area which does often experience network congestion.
