Do I have to pay roaming charges when I call the US from Ireland?

I'll be in Ireland the last week of June.  Will I have to pay roaming charges for calls I make from Ireland to the United States?  Also how about texting from Ireland or receiving texts or phone calls.

You would have to sign up for one of Verizon's international plans or use a SIM card in your phone you would purchase in Ireland.

There are different options depending on how much(data, calling, texting) you plan on using your device while in Ireland.
