Blocking unwanted calls

I understand I can block calls with *77. My stupid question - do you hit *77 while the call is in progress, or do you have to list the number somewhere? Thanks.

*77 is to turn on anonymous call rejection. You only have to turn this on once. You do it when no one is on the phone. You pick up the phone, hear the dial tone, then dial *77. Hang-up afterwards.
