The only thing I need from my land line is to be able to call out to the 800 number for my monitored alarm system. What Verizon plan should I have?
Might want to check your alarm company to see if they have an alarm system that has builtin wireless (cell) service. Then you don't need any phone.

At the 3 alarm companies I've talked to, the increased price for going to a wireless alarm is a lot more than a phone line.
