Message Waiting Indicator not working

I signed up for phone and internet package. After an extremely frustrating experience with Verizon, my phone and internet if finally working...almost. My voicemail is not working to it fullest potential. The Message Waiting Indicator does not work. Can anyone help me? 1-800-verizon is useless.
