NO DIAL TONE @ PARK TERRACE EAST NEAR 218TH

Dear Verizon,

THE ONLY REASON I KEEP A LANDLINE IS SO THAT I CAN HAVE SERVICE WHEN THERE ARE POWER OUTAGES.  SO, IMAGINE MY FRUSTRATION WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS NO POWER OUTAGE N MY AREA, AFTER IRENE CAME THROUGH, BUT MY LANDLINE WAS DOWN.  I CHECKED VERIZON'S WEBSITE FOR INFORMATION, NOTHING.  WHY DOES A COMMUNICATION COMPANY HAVE SUCH POOR COMMUNICATION?  WHEN WILL MY LANDLINE BE BACK UP AND RUNNING?  CAN VERIZON POST SERVICE OUTAGES ON THEIR WEBSITE WITH UPDATES?

Thanks,

Irate

Agreed.  I have no dial tone here either (White Plains Road and Bruckner Blvd).  Diagnostic says no issue on Verizon side.  Dial tone works on another line in the other floors.

Couldn't log support call through website either 😞

OK, so...

Yesterday there was noise on the line and after a few hours the dial tone came back.  You would think yay, right?  I was even able to make a call and left a message for a friend to call me back in order to check the line.  Never got a call, so I went to check the line and I got Punked!  Nothing but dead air, no dial tone.  What happened?  Is Verizon playing a game of Gotcha?  Grrrrr...

I want my landline back NOW, or maybe I should just cancel it.  Hmmm...

Anyone else having the same problem?
