When my telephone line is connected to the computer (dsl), the rest of the phones in the house are dead. As soon as I unplug the phone line to the computer, the house phones work. Help!

You need to use a DSL filter on the line you are plugging into the computer. May I ask why you are connecting the phone into the PC anyway?

As said probably need a filter.
As far as why he may have it connected
- Note though I haven't seen them mentioned in a while, but early DSL connections were done with a DSL MODEM Card in the computer. In that case should be connected without filter to the computer but with one to all the phones.
- Might have a conventional modem card for things like fax. Filter needed.
- Might have the computer set up as Phone answering machine. Filter needed.
