Can I configure a VoIP softphone on my computer to run over Fios? I need a VoIP/SIP domain. Customer support had no clue.

More clarification: Does Residential Verizon FiOS / Digital Voice (which I have) provide VoIP/SIP services such that I can configure a dedicated VoIP softphone (e.g. Bria4 or EyeBeam) to use on my FiOS connected PC? Or would I need a separate VoIP/SIP provider? I can currently use Skype over this path with no problems, but don't want to pay for additional services if I can (as I should be able to) use my existing Verizon services for this.

I don't think you can. The ont converts the calls to look like Pots calls to your home devices.
