Verizon has failed to stop many call violations of the Do Not Call laws, particularly allowing callers to fake their ANI identification. Except for legitimate reasons, such as law enforcement, domestic violence, or other exceptions, no call should be completed that does not match the actual origin. That aside, we who continue to be awakened from sleep, dinners interrupted, and run to the phone only to find the call is another pan handler violating the law, we have to take action into our own hands. Why is it then, that Verizon has a limit of only 10 numbers that can be blocked? And why can we not block entire area codes and exchanges so a boiler room cannot keep changing numbers with the same area code?
Please, Verizon, give us more options to manage our own calls until the day you have the smart technology in place to limit illegal calls.

Seconding what TimeVoyager states here. I have signed up for the Do Not Call Registry (for whatever good that has done) and still get at least 3-4 telemarketer calls per day. If Verizon allows us to block 10 numbers, how difficult could it be to bump that limit up to 50 or more, or better yet, provide some flexibility in blocking entire NPA/NXX combinations as the telemarketers typically have number ranges and/or frequently change their numbers to dodge the simple blocking schemes. Perfect solution for me would be a system that allows for users to manage a single list that contains white listed numbers that pass through, black-listed numbers that get blocked, ordered in priority of execution (very similar to how email SPAM blockers work). An updated interface would be a boost too (as the current one is a little clunky) so that users could very quickly add/edit/delete numbers from the tool itself and even an option to white/black list numbers directly from your call log. The current 10 number limit is not enough. I am at the point where I am questioning the value of my land line as the inconvenience of the unwanted calls far outweighs the convenience of having the line for the few times I use it for legit calls each week. Strongly considering dumping my voice plan when my bundle is up for renewal if this is not somehow addressed as again, how hard could it be for Verizon to simply increase the limit from 10 to a much large number?

My new issue is that calls from numbers that are my blocked list are completing calls to me

Absolutely need more than 10.
I would agree that it should really be unlimited but until then, the only thing you can really do is pick up the phone or call the number back and ask to be placed on this telemarketer's or company's "do not call list" and they won't bother you again. That's what I do. It's the old fashioned way but if you don't want to be bothered, I find that it does work.
Amazing that Verizon promotes FIOS as a miracle digital service yet we can only block ten numbers.
I could easily use up a 50 number limit.
This is customer neglect that allows us to be harassed. It's like an apartment manager giving a key to a stalker who the manager has been informed has a restraining order issued for that person.
I guessing the the spammers and politicians and other unwanted calls we get are also a source of income for Verizon so I doubt they will do anything that will help us. In a few months when my contract is up I am switching but I think the only solution at this point is to dump my landline altogether. I would esitmate out of every 20 calls I get 19 of them are unwanted ones that I have no ability to control that other than not answering "MY" phone.
Totally agree that the 10 number limit is ludicrous in the 21st Century. You can limit thousands of email addresses reaching your inbox with most email services. Email addresses can be very long with a mix of letters and numbers as well. So, why then does Verizon have a problem with generally providing more than ten numbers that are made of of (generally) ten digits.
Furthermore, the voice spammers are now calling my home number somehow using (000) 000-0000. When I enter this number as part of the "Incoming Call Block" list, I get a pop-up window that says, "Please enter a valid number".

It's not just the 10 number limit, but it is also the limit that you cannot simulatenously turn on blocking while email notification is enabled. This is stupid!
A better idea then just blocking by number... how about being able to black all calls that come in with a particular caller ID. Lately all these "Marketing" calls are coming in. Why can't I just block all thoses?

Look how old this thread is. Your customers have made you aware of a hugely annoying problem, which is what brought me here, and you choose to ignore them. This is what is wrong with huge bureaucratic companies. The 10 call block limit makes zero sense.

The ability to block a measley 10 numbers is actually an insult to a paying customer in this era of "technology". There has to be a monetary reason Verizon continues to ignore this issue and it's not how much it would cost Verizon to add technology to increase the limit above and beyond 10......Give me 80 and think of all the telemarketers I could put out of business. Verizon should fix this issue. I'll be surprised if they do.

There used to be a forum (Verizon Idea Exchange) for suggesting changes, but there' an announcement that it's been closed with something about they're "reworking the format" blah, blah...
NEW LIMIT IS 100 NUMBERS !!!! YAY!!!!! WORKS FROM HOME PC AND THRU FIOSTV MENU TOO! THANKS VERIZON, and a sarcastic "thanks for letting us know of the new limit" to verizon since they DIDN'T let us know....and kudos to AJLEE7!!!!
Ok, being able to block up to 100 telephone numbers is great. My unwanted calls have dropped from over 40 a week to about 5. Nomorobo works great too but the phone rings once before nomorobo cancels the call. This is annoying. Blocking calls is the way to go, so thanks Verizon for finally doing your job. I'm up to 56 blocked numbers. I'll soon run out. How about increasing the blocked call limit to 1000. Also blocking ID's with no numbers would be great too. Names like Private, Anonymous, and Unavailable. Thanks again for doing your job.
fwiw, i can only block more than 10 numbers using pc interface, when i tried to block 11th number using fiostv menu, i got error about only blocking 10 number maximum....so i quickly got on puter to try and it works from here, so now we're up to 11 numbers blocked, certain to reach 100 by end of year......if fios being sold to frontier doesn't interfere with everything
