I currently have 2 phone numbers in my NYC apartment. I don't need the 2nd phone number anymore but would like to keep the jack at my computer that was already set up for this 2nd phone number. The wiring for this jack runs from the closet directly to this jack (DSL was on this line, DSL was changed to my primary number recently). Can Verizon merge my second number with my primary number without changing any wiring so that DSL works through this jack? Or do I need a Verizon tech to come out and a)switch the wiring in the closet for this jack so it is connected to my primary number or b) install new wiring and a new jack at my computer for my primary number?
