The so-called backup battery does not work in a power outage. So how do I get the battery out of the system?
It was a requirement at one time that they have emergency backup for the Phone service. So the battery backup was designed to support that (does not support TV or Internet service beyond a few minutes). I guess the requirement no longer is mandatory as they no longer include a battery in most installs.
