My friend has a very nice metal Verizon Visa card, which is part of the reason I decided to apply for it. When I received my card, I was disappointed to discover that it is made of the cheapest, flimsiest plastic I've ever felt in my life. It feels like a cheap gift card, not a credit card. I feel embarrassed to use it. It's not durable at all. After a month of use it looks like a scratched up piece of trash. The numbers on the back are impossible to read. Why did Verizon switch from the metal card? It cheapens the brand and makes being a Verizon customer feel more like being a Cricket Mobile customer. Horrible. Please bring back the metal card ASAP.

100% a plastic card for verizon, which is supposed to be the leading carrier and definitely charges like it, feels like putting smartcar bumper sticker on a Tesla or getting a tracphone tattoo

There are credit cards made of metal? Because I've only ever seen current CCs made in plastic.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Wow, very disappointing when I opened my renewed Verizon Credit card (plastic vs metal in my original). Iโve been putting significant spending with this card due to the black metal (cool and special). Would have no incentive keeping using it. I understand giving plastic to the low spenders; they should keep the metal to higher spenders as brand recognition. Cutting cost with intelligent please.

I just got a replacement and itโs plastic and I wonโt use it now. I have other cards with better rewards. I loved the heft of the metal card but oh well.

I'm with you on this. I'm embarrassed to use it as I'm sure the people who I've given it to for payment must think that I got downgraded in credit report or something going from metal to flimsy plastic. Thanks Verizon for the downgrade. Are they not making enough money or something?

Same issue here... I so like my metal card and refuse the activate the Cheap Plastic one.. I'm good till it expires but I will eventually move to company that has metal cards.. Hopefully, Verizon see these complaints and goes back to Metal..

Iโd be willing to pay a fee to get the metal one. They should at least give us that option.

Even NerdWallet online still has Verizon as one of the top metal cards and that was June 19th even though Verizon says they stopped issuing last year. I'm switching cards

I used to use my metal Verizon card every day. I was shipped the plastic card as my card had expired and I havenโt even added it to my actual wallet. Itโs already scratched and is currently the thinnest card I own. Ridiculous. .

Boo Verizon. You already went from the best service ever to subpar standard service with phones. Now the credit cards from the best thick metal to the thinnest plastic I've ever seen for a card. Guaranteed this thing will be shredded, because all plastic cards in my wallet shred themselves in a few months time. What's next? Selling the whole thing over to some billionaire who rebrands?

Especially since they sent me the plastic junk 5 years early. Data breach is your fault Verizon. I want my metal card at least until expires in 2029

Yes! I was extremely disappointed to receive my replace card and find out itโs plastic now. Itโs a little silly but Iโm probably going to use it less now that itโs plastic

I didnโt even ask for a replacement card and was so annoyed when a cheap plastic one showed up instead of the nice metal one like I had before.

Commenting for visibility. Iโve had this card for over a year now and still super salty that itโs plastic when it was marketed as metal at the time. Itโs my favorite card for the rewards, but the card itself is TRASH.

I couldn't agree with this more!!! I use to work at a Verizon authorized retailer and those metal cards were a huge factor in my deciding to open one. Getting this thin, cheap plastic one instead was such a huge disappointment. I've had it like two months and it is scratched all over, I'm practically embarrassed by it.

I too applied for the Verizon cc because I heard it was made of metal and it was black very posh!!! Only to be disappointed with a flimsy recycled grade plastic thatโs not credit card worthy. Verizon I only got this card for that reason only (metal cc). Please hear your customerโs complains and BRING BACK THE METAL cc.
