I've had landline phone service including DSL for over 20 years in a downtown apartment building. The phone line went dead on Saturday 12/23/2023, but the DSL remained working. I called Verizon, the rep ran a test and determined the problem was outside the building involving an "unbalance on/with the line" and that a repair person would be sent to fix it by today or sooner. I have received an email from Verizon today stating the ticket was solved, but nothing has changed and the phone line is still dead while the DSL remains working. I even purchased a brand new landline phone to use after this happened.
What I'm experiencing is similar to this person's 2016 post here: https://community.verizon.com/t5/Fios-Digital-Voice-and-POTS/Phone-Line-Dead-Verizon-Said-Solved-Tod....
I am also in Philly, i.e. Philadelphia. My original Community name was Philly_Man, similar to that person who posted in 2016, but this post may wind up appearing under a new username I apparently had to create which is Landline_User.
I'm dealing with serious medical issues lately so this was very bad timing for this very strange loss of phone line service.

Okay, fyi, I just spoke with another Verizon rep. Despite the email I received the problem is still with the phone line, and another person will be sent to fix the issue tomorrow or Friday. I'll also receive a credit for my lost days.
