Outgoing Fios calls feing directed to spam center

2 times in the last 2 weeks I dialed a legitimate toll free number and was connected to a spammer who immediately started fast talking a spiel that I was selected to receive a free home alert monitor.

The first time I thought I had miscalled the number I was attempting to call , within minutes I started to receive incoming calls with a town name displayed and sometime a Fraud Call display this continues at a slower rate today.

Today I made an 888 call and was connected to the same spammer, I checked my outgoing call record and verified that I did call the correct member , I again dialed the correct number and was connected to the proper recipient ( a state gov agency) I do not think the recipient had anything to do with this so it's on Verizons side of the call

Anyone else having something like this happening? What can we do about it

Trying to think what else can be done.

When the calls to these TFNs are made, is it using the same telephone? If so, is there another physical telephone that can be used to place the calls? The test calls from a cell phone or another landline would help to determine if the problem is equipment related or a translation or routing issue that is outside the scope of this website/forum.

I haven't had this happen to me.

If you try to call the Toll-Free number on a cell phone, can the problem be duplicated? Another test would be to have other people (who don't subscribe to Fios) try to call the same number and see what they reach.

As a workaround, can the organization give you a local telephone number to call rather than the Toll-Free number?

This has happened with 2 different numbers 1 was an 800 number the other an 888 number also 2 unrelated businesses. 1 was a law office the other a government agency , Calling beck a second time both of the the calls went thru properly, like I said I thought I missdialed till I checked the Fios call Logs on the second misdirected call and the number was correct,

Like the incoming Spam Calls where not bad enough, Now I seem to be calling the Spammers Lol

It's definitely not phone or ONT related if the Fios call log shows the correct number was dialed, As far as using a cell to try the call, it;s hit or miss if the calls go thru properly and I do not call these numbers frequently so I cannot duplicate the problem
