Wrong name shows up on Caller ID

I recently had FIOS phone service installed in my home. Peolple will not answer my calls because the name "ARES HEMESIAS" shows up on their caller ID.  I am not "ARES HEMESIAS."  Online Verizon agent told me it's not Verizon's problem; I should straighten it out with local "White Pages." There are no "White Pages" in northern New Jersey phone books. What do I do?

Once again, the online agent (I think he was in India) said, "It's not Verizon's problem," (always nice to hear when you are paying Verizon for the service) and recommended that I contact "the white pages."  I responded that, at least in New Jersey, there are no white pages. The agent insisted I was wrong: "The white pages are the residential listings at the beginning of every phone book."

Well, no they are not.....

Ultimately, I contacted the Verizon Tech who installed my whole FIOS set-up and was kind enough to leave a card with his own phone number, and he cleared the problem -- across all phone systems -- in one day.

Problem fixed.

Each company has their own caller ID database. If the people you are calling are Verizon customers, then call verizon and have your caller ID information verified. If the people have service with someone else, then their provider will need to update their database.
