Can not connect westell 327w to mini Mac desktop with OSX 10.5 with wireless USB adapter

I am trying to connect my westell 327w DSL router to a mini Mac desktop running OSX 10.5 with a wireless USB adapter the adapter is 802.11n but the router is a 802.11 b/g. Is there a fix or an alternate plan besides running a cat 5 wire to my sons room.

The adapter in the mini will fall back to 802.11g. Provided you're entering the right security keys, it should connect just fine.

You didn't turn of SSID broadcast did you? You need to leave that turned on for Mac's (turning off SSID as a security enhancement is an urban myth that adds no real value in terms of security).

Wait a minute ... why are you using a USB adapter? Isn't the wireless built in to the Mini? It's built-in to mine.
