Changing Wifi name ?

Sorry if this has already been adressed, but when I tried to search I got alot of threads that didnt really apply.

So basically, I'm looking for the easiet way to change my wifi name. Can anybody please forward me in the right direction?

logon to the router at 192.168.1.1

select wireless settings

select basic security settings

change the characters that are in the ssid box

click apply

What model router do you have? If it's an Actiontec, include the letter suffix after the model. E, F, I, etc.

And when you say you want to change your wifi name, do you mean the password you sign in with or the SSID, the name your network displays on wifi devices?
