Confused about port forwarding settings in my Fios router

I have a CR1000A Verizon Fios router properly configured for my home network. Everything works fine. However, I am confused about the settings under Port Forward in the router configuration:

I like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable about network configuration, but I'm confused about these settings. Is this the default configuration for this router?

My concern is that these settings are poking holes in my firewall. Take the HTTP setting, for example. Does this mean that if someone from outside tries to connect to my home network using an HTTP request on any port, that the router will re-router that connection to port 80? And then what? I tried connecting to my public IP from outside the network via a web browser, but it didn't connect,'

What will happen if I delete all of these rules? Will someone in my network break? I have UPnP enabled.

What happen if you delete all the rules?

Nothing.

But you don't gain anything either. It complicates the setup if you were ever want to port forwarding something in the future, or a future firmware reinstates the ability to directly apply a templated rule from the Port Forwarding Rule.

Port Forwarding Rules are not Port Forwarding.

Only entries under Port Forwarding menu are applied.

As of now, the Port Forwarding Rules are not applicable for the IPv4, they are somewhat useful for the IPv6 Pinhole.

Ah, I get it now. The rules are just descriptions of how a port forwarding configuration would work. The "Protocol" is just a text label to help identify it. So when it says "FTP", it's not actually implementing a config for the FTP protocol. The "FTP" is just a label, so that you don't need to remember that FTP typically uses port 21.
