Merrrrry Christmas VZ Community!
This is my first time visiting and i thought i would try asking some questions here first, before trying to wade through the abyss that is every Service Providers Phone Tech. System...
So without further adieu, this is what i want to accomplish.
What I have:
1.} VZ 25/15
2.} The Ultraline Series 3 Internet Gateway 9100EM (Modem/Router)
3.} Netgear Wireless N-Router WNR3500
4.} Linksys 5-port Switch EZXS55W
What I want:
I want to connect the switch to the Ultraline to gain more ports because i have run out (the easy part), then i want to string an Ethernet line over to my Netgear router and use it as an extender both wirelessly and for wired connections around its location.
The Problem:
I don't know how to do any of that!
So i need your help...
I just got off the phone with Netgear.... not alot of help.
They asked me to ask VZ if the Ultraline uses a WDS feature, which stands for something like Wireless Distribution Setting/System/Something....
I assume it does, but i like i said i don't know.
Netgear said that if the Ultraline does not support/have that feature, then i cant set up their router as an extender..
The Solution
What i need answered, are the following:
1.} Does the Ultraline have that WDS capability?
2.} Assuming it does, how do i setup the Network i want, without the Routers competing with eachother?
3.} How do i make sure the Port Forwarding settings/NAT settings on the Ultraline will NOT be changed once passed through the Netgear router?
Help would be much Appreciated in this Christmas Season!
