To whomever reads this,
Like many, MANY, people on these forums I'm getting speeds slower than what I am paying for. I am paying for 3 - 7 MBps, and get speeds that rarely reach 2.1; normally, they hover between 0.6 and 1.2, with pings between 150ms and 350ms. I spend THREE MONTHS (November to January) working with Verizon "techs" to fix the issue, before I simply could no loner afford missing work to accomodate them. They found that the DSLAM that feeds my area "goes into isolation" several times a night (I still don't know what that means), which is causing my speed issues.
Why won't Verizon upgrade the DSLAM, like they KNOW it needs to be? They know what the problem is, but do nothing but waste my time, rather than fix it.
Look, all I want is a stable internet connection I can stream movies on (like everyone else) and play my online games on. As it stands, movies are impossible, and my games run like a stop-animation movie.
