My brother was a long time Verizon client and passed away suddenly in February. His Verizon account was on auto pay and kept drafting his account thru April. I tried notifying them of his passing. After trying to communicate with someone who spoke English with a heavy accent, she transferred me to a department that was for closing accounts for those deceased. Instead, I got transferred to collections. I was told that they would require I review all his statements and formally dispute all charges after he passed and then wait 21 days for them to decide if they would honor it. Talk about rubbing salt into someone's wounds!!! What is up with Verizon?
