I have had the local power company and Cox Communications out to look at the nest of trees entangled in communication lines on my property and both have identified the lines as Verizon's. I have had tree trimming companies out to quote me on removing the trees but ultimately no-quoted me because of the liability and because they are pole to pole lines. These trees are severely tangled in the lines and need removed asap. One branch has already fallen and nearly missed 4 different garages and the remains of that branch are pressing on a few of the lines.
