Is there anway to disable this outside the MyFios app? When I click on the Home Network Protection, I keep getting the following error message "Router currently unavailable. Please try again later." Been like this for the past 2 days and I can't change parental settings. I tried going to My Verizon setting via web and it says "We see you have enabled Home Network Protection. Please use your MyFios app to manage all devices and parental controls on your home network. All controls on this site have been disabled." It's frustrating.

Points to the thread https://forums.verizon.com/t5/Fios-Internet/Paged-Blocked-by-Verizon-McAffe-Home-Network-Protection/...
and two possible fixes, quoting.
a)
He used his prior backup of his router firmware is my guess and rolled it back to when mcafee was not placed on it.
b)
The fix is simple. Go to your Fios app on your phone. Go to security settings. Wait a little bit for like 10 seconds. Home Network Protection selection will show up. Turn it off. Voila!!!

Same issue here. Was hoping turning off / on my home gateway router would help but didn't. Was also hoping it was something on Verizon's end and system would magically work again but it's been about 4 days now. Maybe if enough people have the same issue in this thread tech support will chime in. I don't have the patience for their telephone support trees.
Also regretting turning this feature on. Had no problem managing parental controls from the router itself.

I regret not reading the message when it popped up, asking to enable "Secure Home
Network Protection". Now I cannot manage parental controls. I used my phone to setup a schedule for the kids internet connections, but when Thanksgiving rolled around, I had to disable them... Now the schedule doesn't work and I cannot get the app to work, it says my router isn't available or my login session expired and to "try again". I chatted with support and they suggested a factory reset. That's the solution to everything. Just blow away all of your routing configs, static nats, etc... and

Did the factory reset work? Trying to see if I can just go ahead and reset the router rather than dealing with calling Verizon. I chatted with someone from Verizon and they said they will escalate but not sure what that means since it's been 3 days and have not heard from anyone.

Has anyone found a solution for this problem? Once I activated this Home Network Protection by mistake when going to update my devices, it has locked me out from changing any devices. There is no way to deactivate the Home Network Protection. Helpdesk/Support is no help. They just keep going around in circles. When you tell them it started with the Home Network Protection and you want to deactivate, they have no solution. Say they have not heard of this problem. From this forum that is an untruth.

Interesting since I’ve been having the same problem for months and they said it’s a known problem since the update. They don’t seem to be working on it too quickly.

Using the Home Network protection App and want to block a certain device, but, when you go to that device, it says "Device Unable to be blocked or assigned". All other devices I can block. Any advice?

That totally doesn’t work. It says we are activating your service. I’ve waited 3 months now. I don’t have to option to stop it.

I had been managing my devices through the router via a browser. Then I started using the MyFios app to manage the parental controls with profiles. At some point I clicked to enable home network protection. Once I did that I was no longer able to manage my device schedules via the router (I could view the settings, but the functionality to modify was greyed out). The MyFios app said something like "We are activating your service. Check back soon." My schedules were still enabled, so I let it go for a couple days. When I checked back 2 days later the app still had the "activating...check back" message. I checked "Account and Settings >> Security Settings" and there was no option for Home Network Protection.
Even a reset of my router back to factory settings did not fix the issue.
I called Verizon and the rep had me uninstall the MyFios app from my phone. Reset the router again. Re-install the MyFios app. Once I did that I was able to click Home Network Protection. My profiles were all missing, but I can set those up again. Also I now have the option in "Account and Settings >> Security Settings" to turn off home network protection....though I haven't tried to yet. I'm going to try the features and see how it goes. I like having the ability to block categories of web traffic on my kids' devices and still set exceptions to block or allow per device.
One more thing....after the MyFios uninstall and the 2nd router reset, I did see an option like "restore saved settings" when I browsed to my router. I did not click it and could not locate it again after I clicked "Next".
Hope this helps someone who is experiencing the same issue. I am not thrilled that I have to setup my static IPs and other router settings again, but at least I am able to control when the internet is blocked or allowed.

You can turn home network protection off by going to 'account and settings' in the app and then going to 'security settings'. There is an option to turn it off there.

As I have posted before, you must contact McAfee to get assistance getting this blight off your system (router) there is a McAfee uninstall program on the web if you do a google search.
This home protection as you have found is not good. Verizon never should have made it that it cannot be uninstalled but it never thinks of the harm.

There is a poster stating click on the three ... dots and then you can scroll down and turn it off. No one at two other forums I visit have a easy solution.
easiest solution reset the router back to day 1 or buy your own router which Verizon cannot mess with.

Shutting it off does not remove it. You can't access parental controls even when you shut if off from a web browser. Tells you to use the app
