Broadband speed test result question

I just got fios internet 3 days ago, I'm very excited about because I play online shooters and wanted the faster upload speed. I had a 2 up on my previous isp, I ordered the 35 down and the 35 up, which I'm more concerned with the up.

When I got out of work I came home and immediatly started testing the speed. The highest result i was get was just under 20 and I tested at a few sites and got worse than that on some. I finally decided to test using verizon speed test, there results for my up is 36.

What do I make of this?

Is this wired or wireless? What sites did you test on? How far were the servers from you?

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ is where i tested and got almost 20 up.

I chose new york, NY as testing area I'm near syracuse. It is a wired connection.

Also did you run the PC optimizer for FIOS? This my need to be done in order to get the correct speeds to you computer. got to http://www.verizon.net/optimizesettings after this, then reboot your computer. Test it again. This is for windows systems.

I did, and it said it's already optimized, I think the installer did it.

The Speakeasy tests haven't been the greatest for a while now. I'd try using some different servers to test at. Try running a download and upload test from http://testmy.net 's East Coast and Central USA server. That should give you a good idea of where you stand at. For the download speed test, choose a file size of about 100MB or so, and for the upload test, choose 29.3MB. Make sure you are using a modern browser, not something that is out of date especially on the upload test.

download test worked, but upload kept giving me a windiws error.
