As of yesterday from 6 Pm to now my connection has been dropping. My router also has been blinking red or not at all and when it does finally go green, I can go online but only for a minute before I get dropped again.

Ok.
#1 I found the manual / user's guide online.
a) https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://www.actiontec.com/support_cms/doc_files/GT704-WG-B_Vz_User...
b) If you do not want to use Google Docs to read it, go to
http://www.actiontec.com/support_cms/doc_files/GT704-WG-B_Vz_User_Manual_30.15.0.pdf
#2 On your computer check the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS Servers.
For example if Windows XP..
a) Go to Start -> Run.
b) Type in cmd and press enter.
c) In the new window, called the command prompt, type in ipconfig /all and press enter.
#3 Go the Default Gateway listed, and try to log-in.
By Default the user name admin and the Default password is password.
#4 In the router go Status -> DSL Status
(This is addressed on page 25 out 144 if using Google Docs, otherwise page 24).
#5 Please post the info that is there.
#6 In the router go to Wireless Setup -> Wireless Basic Settings -> Wireless Status
#7 If you are reading the manual / user's guide (go to page 41 out 144 pages if using Google Docs - otherwise page 40), it shows that the wireless is enabled.
#8 Is Wireless in the router enabled?
#9 If so:
a) Is Security enabled?
b) And what level of Wireless Security is it set to? In the sample screen there, it says WEP 64-Bit.

Trying to get that now, but my connection has been dropping every ten-seconds since noon today. When I look at my DSl Status it says I'm connected, but the ISP Status says, "PPP down." I keep getting something like that

Ok.
#1 In the router go to Utilities -> System Log
#2 In there you have a drop down menu. I know one of the things is called System Log
#3 Besides System Log, what else is in there?
#4 Please post the info from System Log
#5 This might mean, you will have to:
a) Press Save Log As
b) Save the file to your hard drive.
c) View the Log file on your drive, before posting the contents of the log.

For security/privacy reasons, do not post the following info....
#1 Your PPPoE user name.
#2 Any MAC Address. For example of what a MAC Address looks like, go to http://www.coffer.com/mac_find/
#3 Any IP Address that is not one of these:
a) From 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
b) From 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
c) From 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

Are you from NY because from what I hear there's some technical issues going on out here. My internet's been screwy since Sunday, so you're not alone.

On your computer set it, to use 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 OR (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220) as the DNS Server(s).
As how to, see the info at https://store.opendns.com/setup/computer/

Connection has gotten better, but it's still dropping. prior to setting the DNS server numbers It'd drop every few minutes, now it's about twice an hour.

Ok.
#1 Go to http://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm
#2 Download the program.
#3 You could just run the program without installing it.
a) However just running a program without first scanning the program is not a good idea.
b) While you might trust the programer who made the program, I would scan the program for malware.
#4 Be sure no other network/Internet aware programs are running.
#5 After it comes up, as addressed on the pages on for the program, go to the NameServers Tab and press Run Benchmark.

okay. I was running some tests on DSL Forums and it went out for a few minutes. Then I got a red light for a while. Also when I checked my DSL Status, I got PPP down again.

Are you by any chance running Torrents on your connection, or anything else that spawns a ton of connections? ipq dying on the modem (since they are BusyBox Linux-based) would cause what would appear to be connection drops.

here's something. when It disconnects I've been unplugging the ethernet until the light comes back. when I do that, my net works for about an hour until it drops again.
