E3200 Coax Connection

I have a G3100 router and E3200 extender and gigabit service.  Everything is working and I get excellent (900+ mbps) service on ethernet.  From the ONT there's a coax cable to a splitter and an ethernet cable to the G3100.  From the splitter there's a coax cable to the G3100, another coax cable to the E3200, and a third coax cable to the Verizon TV set top box.  The G3100 says its  physical connection is ethernet; the E3200 says its connection is coax.

                                                                         E3200==(coax)===============| |

                                                                               STB==(coax)================|

Here are my questions:

1) Is this the correct arrangement for the equipment?

2) Recently my backhaul speed dropped to 602 mbps.

       a) What could cause that?

       b) Should I consider using ethernet rather than coax to the E3200?

CAn't believe no one has answered your question! Where is everyone?
I just recently got upgraded to 300/300 and I now have a G3100 connected to the ONT via ethernet.  Previously I had a router connected to the ONT via COAX.    All of the 4 Coaxes in the house go to a splitter next to the ONT and that ONT had a coax going to the IN port on the Splitter.

So now  the COAX  goes from the G3100 Router  to the IN port on the Splitter   and the G3100 is connected via ethernet to the ONT.

My E3200 is in my living room connected via COAX to the splitter.

I hope that makes sense... here is my diagram...

ONT ---ethernet--->G3100 ---coax to splitter IN ----- coax to E3200

                                                                                                                           ------coax to another MOCA device

                                                                                                                           -----coax to another MOCA device

hope this helps someone

OK... so

For MoCA, In and Out ports do not matter. MoCA LAN has a restriction of 16 nodes in the same connection.
