The features detailed on Reddit are already implemented since the release of G3100. I can take your question to Verizon engineering for some insights.

Was just curious if you had heard anything back from engineering regarding new firmware update being rolled out?
That looks like a nice changelog of features. Tri-channel operation especially when an extender isn't using wireless uplink is a nice addition. Helps to get full use out of a Gigabit connection when clients can be split across 5Ghz radios.
