I'm seeing mixed information on the Internet about the WCB3000N and whether it'll work with the G3100. A fair number of reports say it should just be a matter of connecting the extender up to the same Coax network that your G3100 is connected to, and you should get a MoCA link (A MoCA 1.1 link that is, which will downgrade the MoCA network speed). You might need to reset the Extender, or manually configure it via the Web Interface though, given it's old, and I don't think Verizon officially supports it with the G3100. The E3200 is the accompanying extender for a G3100.
FWIW, if you're on one of the newer plans, Verizon might be willing to send you a newer, faster extender to replace the WCB3000N as part of the service.
