I discovered I have coax cable in all rooms in my house. How to know if they are working?

Hi Gurus,

I need some help. When I bought my house 3 years ago, I moved my Verizon FIOS from a previous home. I had FIOS TV and Internet. Verizon put the modem and one TV Box on the main floor and another TV Box in the basement. Obviously, both TV boxes were connected to the modem via coax cable.

Last year, I kept only the internet and returned the TV Boxes. I also kept my G1100 router. Last month, I got the CR1000A router and the Whole-Home Wi-Fi Plus. Everything was fine, but I had some places in my home with low speed, so last week  I requested the two extenders, but they sent the E3200, which I discovered does not work with the Cr1000A via Wi-Fi, only via coax or ethernet. So, I had the idea to use the old TV box coax connection with the extender. I connected the Cr1000a with the old TV box connected to the wall on the main floor and connected one extender downstairs via coax using the old TV box wall connection. It worked like a charm. So now I have the CR1000A on the main floor and the Extender E3200 in the basement connected via coax.

After that, I realized I had a coax wall outlet in my office (also in the basement, but on the opposite side of the house)

I removed the coax wall outlet and saw the cable, but it had no connector. So, I bought a coax cable kit with a crimper, a cutter, and some connectors and connected the cable to the wall outlet; then, I connected the other extender to the wall with a cable that I used with the old TV box. I didn't work. The cable from the wall to the extender is working fine. I tested it with the other extender and the router. But, As I didn't build the house, I have no idea if the coax cable behind the wall is connected to anything. I also realized I have coax wall outlets in all rooms in my house; I tried the same process in another room (put the connector, connect to the wall outlet, and connect to the extender). It also didn't work.

What should I do? Should I buy a coax cable tester to see if the cables behind the walls work? Should I call Verizon and ask them to come and "Activate" the other cables?

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Daniel
