I have spent 4 hours on the phone today with 6 different people and none of them can figure out why I continue to get a message that says "Thank you for your service. We are unable to verify your eligibility...."

It will not allow me to get the discounted Military Veteran plan even though when I login to ID.ME account (NOT GOING THROUGH VERIZON) it verifies my status with no problem at all.

I have been on with Comcast and they are offering a similar discount and they are able to verify me just fine also.

I also had to jump through hoops to get the discount to apply.  It kept rerouting the website back to the main page when you click to see if you are eligible. I called a few times and chatted a few times to no avail.  After about a week I got it to work myself.  I do recall having to click to make sure you were on the Fios side of the website.  I don’t recall what finally made it work but don’t give up.   I think I switched my browsers and used safari instead of chrome so maybe it had to do with stored cookies. I had all kinds of problems with ordering and then my install as well so I was online at the website numerous times and maybe that had something to do with it. Like you, I tried first at the Verizon website and when that didn’t work I went to the id.me website. That didn’t work either. I’ve used the id.me several times before so I knew that wasn’t the problem.  Hang in there. I’m sure you will figure it out  but like I said make sure you click on the Fios side of the website.
