My wife and I have just moved into our newly constructed condo in Long Island City, NY. Per our purchase agreement, we were supposed to be provided with the option between Spectrum Cable and Verizon Fios. However, when we tried to get our service moved to the new address, it came up as ineligible for Fios.
We have since verified that Verizon fiber is running to the DMARC point of our building. We can't know for certain, but it seems that at some point during construction builders prevented Fios engineers from running the connection into the individual units, so we are unable to get Fios service to our condo.
I've had a Fios engineering supervisor survey the location, and he confirmed that we have the infrastructure necessary to get our building started with Fios - a crew has to come out to install the proprietary management equipment in our utility room, but otherwise there is fiber running into each unit (apparently left by Spectrum), and there are already cable risers to support adding Verizon fiber.
However, that was last week - I have not been able to get a hold of the supervisor via call or text, and the last communication was something about having to get additional microduct service installed via a specific contractor, whose company and information I can't find online. It's all very suspect at this point.
The bottom line is - my building is one of 3 new construction properties, each with 4-5 units within, and with owners who all want Verizon Fios. No one here wants to deal with Spectrum, but it's all we have, and I can't seem to get any help from Verizon on this. Fios is 100% in our area already; the buildings across the street and on either side of us all have Fios. And per the construction team and the engineering survey, we should be able to have Fios run in our building with little to no construction necessary, just lines being run through the existing structure.
If anyone at Verizon sees this, I will be cancelling my service today from my previous apartment - and I really, really don't want to. I would love to remain a Fios customer, and to sign up 15+ more Fios customers. But we literally can't and no one is helping us. So here we are.

4-12 Update:
Still no response from Verizon on any front. The closest we've gotten so far has been via a 311 complaint (SR: *****), which resulted in an unnamed agent calling me to inform me that "they'll look into it", and to "not rush these things".
We've since cancelled our service, and are stuck with Spectrum for now, which has gone down twice since we activated services with them mid-March. So there's that I guess.
