Silly question. Are both the router and the power supply for the ONT both connected to the generator?
Try power cycling both the router and the ONT power supply, Power surges/interuptions when switching to or from generator power can do funny things.
The ONT or "Optical Network Terminal" is basically the big (or small) Verizon box that acts as a bridge between the Fiber connection coming in from Verizon, to a CAT5e or Coaxial connection used for Internet, Phone, and TV Service. It's the same large box that the Battery backup unit plugs into since that unit supplies power to the ONT.
