Internet speed on Coax for Fios

I would like to confirm my understanding about Verizon's latest ONT for Fios:

1. The coax output from the ONT box distributes only 300 MBPS signal through out the house (which is wired with coax).

2. On the older version, I have seen 1GBPS Ethernet over the coax using MOCA adapter - and that is not available anymore.

3. One Gigabit connection is available only through their router. So for for rooms farther away from the router, one would need extenders. Mostly likely 1 Gigabit will drop down due to obstacles in the way. Would appreciate knowing other experience in this regard (how well the 1 gigabit router works - I have my own doubts about consistent speed).

4. Wonder why Verizon decided to take this backward step of not supporting highs peed Ethernet on coax. Any insights will be appreciated.

Thanks you in advance for any and all insights.
