My significant other just started a new job and they are providing a WFH setup with a Cisco 891F router for it,
I have the Cisco 891F connected via cat6 cable to the quantum gateway(g1100), the terminal has internet but her company's IT department is sayin the VPN light on the 891F needs to be illuminated and it's not.
They are saying it's some sort of problem on our end but without much help or direction aside from we may need to contact Verizon.

You might first try setting the Cisco 891F as a DMZ host on the LAN. Usually, setting up a DMZ host is a bit dangerous, as it puts the machine on the net with no firewall, but the Cisco 891F is a firewall. The G1100 User Manual, page 103, explains how to do that. (It is Titled DMZ HOST AND REMOTE ADMINISTRATION.)
