Making the Verizon E3200 work

So I posted a statement regarding the Verizon E3200 "range extender" and my frustrations with it. I managed to get it to work and I am going to explain how I did it.

First things first, it needs to be hardwired. whether through coax or through an ethernet cable.  I found a 50' foot Cat 8 ethernet cable on Amazon for $26 (which qualified for free next morning shipping) I looked at Cat 6 Cat 5, different lengths, (40 feet would have been enough) and believe it or not the 50 foot length was cheaper than the 40 foot length..  Anyway, it connected up fine, I based on what the router says, I have 1000MB flowing through the network cable.

I won't bore people with the details of drilling through the wall, running the line under the house, causing a leak in my shower drain pipe, through to the outside, across the outside wall to where I needed it to go, ya'll can fill in those extra gaps yourselves.

I want to move to set-up.  because once it is connected and you have the steady white light, it is not over.  you will need to log in to the unit.  I did not have wifi coming from the unit right away.

I connected it to a laptop via ethernet cable, and the IP address 192.168.1.100 is what takes you to the extender.  (192.168.1.1 is the router).  The admin password on the back of the unit will NOT work!  For some reason, it adopts the same password as the router, so be sure that you take a picture of that before trying to login.

Once I logged in, the Wifi started broadcasting, almost like magic!

So here it is all in one place.  May your journey be less arduous than mine was!
