Moving router from one port to another inside apartment

Question

I started my service yesterday with a Tech coming to my apartment. He asked where I would like the router installed (lounge versus bedroom). Each room has a coaxle (cable) and blue marked ethernet (fios) input on the same panel.

The internet is connected fine, however I've decided to put my desktop PC in the bedroom and its wireless signal is poor (i.e. im getting 8mb/s vs my gigabit service).

Is it possible to have the router sit in the bedroom without paying for a tech? Photos below of the ONT box area. I've tried to move the ethernet cable from Port 1 to Port 2 on the switch, but internet wouldnt connect.

It looks like Port 4 on your Ethernet punch block may also be patched to an Ethernet drop. Did you try that one? 3, 5, and 6 are empty.

Outside of that, your apartment's maintenance team (the cheaper option versus asking VZ for help) will need to figure out why the Ethernet jack in your bedroom is not working. Usually it's just a case of a bad termination which they need to repair. Your ONT (the black Verizon box pictured) will remain in that cabinet.
