My E3200 WiFi Extender will not pair with CR1000a except using coax.

The set up instructions indicate that I should be able to pair the extender to the router using 1) CAT5/6 or 2) coax or 3) wireless.  I want to pair the extender, then move it to a part of the house with medium coverage, and just plug the extender into power.  The new house is not wired with cat6 or coax because we want to rely on Wi-Fi only.

Others have told me that I must have the extender connected by wire to the router.

Two questions are:

Should E3200 and CR1000a pair wirelessly?

After pairing, can I place the E3200 extender on a bookshelf with power but no hardwired connection to the router?

Thanks

Verizon never suggested wireless backhaul capabilities between E3200 and CR1000A/B.

If you think about it, logically why should they support such a feature? E3200 is triband 5GHz Low, High and 2.4GHz. CR1000A/B is triband 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz. 2.4GHz is not a candidate for its slowness. 5GHz is the only viable band, then this leaves CR1000A/B only with 6GHz for connecting the client devices. There are still way fewer client devices support WiFi 6E or 7.

Reddit threads suggested that these two cannot work wireless as they work on different bands 5GHz vs 6GHz

Not sure why Verizon would offer incompatible products and not even suggest that in document that it would not work with new router.
